Dwight Howard Is Looking Frustrated

Los Angeles Lakers’ center Dwight Howard may be the best big man in fantasy basketball in the league today, but so far his start in Los Angeles could not have gotten off to a worse start. The Los Angeles Lakers started off the season 1-4 before firing head coach Mike Brown, whose Princeton offense just wasn’t working in fantasy basketball as the best player for the system (power forward Pau Gasol) also just happened to be the fourth best player on the entire Lakers’ team. Simply put, the scheme fit neither future Hall of Famers Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash nor Howard.

The Lakers have begun to get better in the recent days, but not better enough to keep Dwight Howard from blowing his stack and committing a flagrant foul that not only got him ejected from the game but also cost him a hefty fine. Howard had a bit of a reputation in Orlando with the Magic to get a few technical fouls here and there for either calls he didn’t agree with or non-calls that he thought should have been calls. However, Howard never had a reputation in fantasy basketball to be a dirty player or someone who is rougher than necessary.

The obvious conclusion is that, like anyone who is a fan of the Lakers right now, Howard is frustrated. The Lakers were supposed to be the best team in the Western Conference, if not the entire NBA this season. Instead, they are miles behind not only another Western Conference team, but the team that shares their arena with them, the Los Angeles Clippers. Howard needs to use this incident as a turning point in this so far miserable season. If he can, then the Lakers will still eventually compete with the rest of the conference.
